I have come to love photographing
burrowing owls here in California. The San Joaquin Valley is home to a
large population of these reclusive owls. These owls live in family
communities, raising their young to fledglings on the insects and
mice found in a nearby alfalfa field. They practice their
flying and hunting abilities close by our vehicles - giving us many
opportunities to hone our photography skills with flight and
interaction images. The more wind the better!
We meet in Earlimart, CA at 5pm, travel to the owls and shoot on
through dusk. Limited to 3 photographers per safari.
