Nature safaris in Yosemite are a combination of
awesome landscape opportunities and occasional wildlife. While the safaris go
during different seasons, each season offers something unique - winter and snow,
autumn colors, spring green - and roaring waterfalls. The massive granite monoliths provide
backdrops for Yosemite Valley and the Merced River, one of the top photography
destinations in all the world. Over the years I've photographed bobcats, black bears, mule deer bucks, and an
assortment of birds - so depending on the season, wildlife opportunities will
also be available. |
We can meet at my home if you are coming from
the south, or in Oakhurst near the south entrance to Yosemite.
We stop for lunch in the park around 11am, and usually finish up at
the end of the day. The fall and winter safaris will be cool
to very cold, so dress accordingly - boots, gloves, knit hat, and
winter overcoat.
The deposit is 50% via check, Paypal, or credit card, and
the balance is due halfway between the deposit date and the
safari date unless you are booking within 3 months, then
full payment is due. Check the main safari page for other
information. Spouses can ride along at no charge,
but you must have your own vehicle.

This safari is 1 day long. |
I've spent my 38-year wildlife photography
career shooting in the American West. The first 23
years shooting out of Utah, the past 15 years out of
California. With 1500 published photo credits, dozens
of magazine covers and article, and a lifetime wandering the
roads of the west, the photo safaris that I lead are all to
the best locations, at the best times, during peak wildlife
activity periods. What a rush it has been. |
Since we
come in and leave from the Hwy 41 entrance, depending on the
season we will shoot Mariposa Grove of Sequoia trees either
coming in or leaving. Also, we will look for Great Gray Owls
around Wawona in the autumn, and hit other peak spots during
the seasons. |
The Winter Safari can be very cold, while the
spring and autumn safaris are usually mild and comfortable. The
safari dates keep us out of the park on busy weekends, but are still
timed to take advantage of both seasonal landscape and wildlife
opportunities. |
